To be excellent, beautiful design is not enough. Icons must know how to carry passion and emotion.
It was 1925 and, in the factory located at the foot of the Basilica di Superga in Turin, young entrepreneur Walter Martiny created one of the first sports shoes in the world with a vulcanized natural rubber sole to meet the needs of his tennis wife. At the time, tennis players used canvas shoes with rope soles: Martiny created a mold of the rope sole and reproduces it in natural, non-slip and resistant rubber. It is from the irregular texture of the rope that the characteristic "orange peel" sole is born, the same one that we still see under the 2750: for everyone, the classic Superga®.
Even today, Superga® 2750 is loved all over the world and recognized as one of the greatest examples of Italian design. In almost 100 years of history, the iconic white canvas with a thousand customization possibilities has allowed dozens of artists and designers to express their creativity.
